Interview with Dr. John Carter
Dr. John Carter is an ecologist and founder of Yellowstone to Uintas Connection (Y to U), an organization dedicated to restoring the regional wildlife corridor connecting the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem to the Northern and Southern Rockies. He is an expert on the Canada Lynx. He is also the Board President for the Kiesha Preserve, a 1,000 acre wildlife preserve and research area in Idaho. John is the author of numerous publications and presentations on ecology, wilderness and wildlife, based on the best available science.
In this interview, John talks about his decades of working for the conservation of our public lands and the wildlife that depends on them.
"As a professional consultant with a PhD in ecology, I was told by the Forest Service that I wasn't qualified to know what damage looked like to an environment I had been studying for decades."
"The picture that is being painted by the agencies is one of a continually narrowing definition of the habitat that Canada Lynx need, and, of course, the narrower you define this habitat, then the more land is open for extraction."
"Maybe one day people will return to a more conservative lifestyle, where conservation is actually part of the equation, which it is not now."

You earned a preemptive ❤️ for this one because I know from his writing that I will love listening to Dr. Carter's interview. I just noticed that Glenn Parton is the host. I have seen his writing, too.
Post script- Good interview. John certainly is a thoughtful, caring man.
